How to set up PageIndexer?

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through how to properly configure PageIndexer.

  1. After registering and confirming your email, you'll need to link your Google Search Console account associated with your website. Simply click on "Connect My Account," select a user, and log in with those credentials.

  2. Next, import the necessary sites into the admin panel. Click "Import My Sites," and PageIndexer will automatically display the sites linked to your GSC account, along with their SiteMaps.

Ensure that you have “Owner” permission for these sites.

  1. If the sitemap is not linked automatically, you'll need to ensure it is linked in the Google Search Console. Go to the SiteMaps tab in Google Search Console, enter the SiteMap link, and click Submit.

If you're unsure how to find the SiteMap link, consult a programmer, developer, webmaster, or SEO specialist—they can assist you in a minute.

  1. After linking the sitemap in Google Search Console, return to PageIndexer and click "Sync Sitemap" or “Re-import” to link it.

  2. Next, follow these simple steps: Click the "Enabled" button, then "Indexing Access." Copy the service account and click on the "Google Search Console" button.

  3. You will be redirected to your Google Search Console account, where you need to grant access to the service account. Click "Add User," paste the service account email, and ensure you grant “Owner” permissions (as the service won't function correctly otherwise). Finally, click "Add."

By granting “Owner” permission, you shouldn’t be worried, as this Google service account was created by Google and uses access keys for API authentication. These keys are securely stored on the Google Cloud Platform, strictly guarded, and never shared with third parties.

  1. Now, return to your website and verify if the service account is linked correctly.

Click on "Check access," and if everything is correct, the status of the "Active" and "Indexing access" fields will appear highlighted in green.

  1. Enabling the auto-index function ensures that all newly published site pages included in the SiteMap will be automatically indexed by search engines within 48 hours.

  2. To automatically or massively index the site pages on Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Yep, click on the desired site. You will see the "Index Now" function. If the function is not yet installed, it will be highlighted in red.

Click on "Index Now" to proceed.

  1. A pop-up window will appear with a .txt file. Download this file and upload it to the root directory of your site. You can do this on your hosting platform or on the server where the website is located.

Ensure that you upload the file to the public_html folder in the root directory.

If this step seems unclear, ask a webmaster, programmer, developer, or SEO specialist to do it. It will take them just a minute.

If you decide to set it up yourself, the video below will guide you through the process.

  1. After that, return to the dashboard and click "Check ownership" to ensure everything is configured correctly.

The "IndexNow" button will be highlighted with a green check mark, and a green "OWNERSHIP VERIFIED" message will appear.

That's it! The setup is complete. Now all new pages of your site will be automatically indexed in all search engines. You can conveniently track the status of all pages and mass index old pages that are not indexed or have dropped out of the index.
